SAVE OUR SKINS TALLOW BALM | 60ml

The rescue balm for skin that’s having a hard time. Dry patches, rough spots, chapped noses: we've got you!
  • 96% Organic
  • Non-nano zinc oxide
  • Mimics skin’s natural oils
Why this balm?

Save Our Skins is Bless the Baby’s grown-up sibling: the same ingredients, but with less zinc and a generous dose of calendula and chamomile. And those extracts are the real stars. They’re CO2-extracted, the purest way to capture everything a flower has to offer, and calendula has been treasured for centuries for skin that needs to recover.

Beeswax and zinc then lay a soft, breathable layer over fragile skin, so it can do its thing in peace.

  • Calms dry, red, irritated and eczema-prone skin
  • Protects fragile skin, rough spots, cracked hands and chapped noses
  • Helps keep blemishes calm, thanks to the zinc
  • Nourishes normal to dry skin, as a rich day or night cream
  • Goes everywhere: one tin for face, hands and body

Chamomile & Calendula or Lavender?

Chamomile & Calendula  has no essential oils. The best choice for very sensitive or reactive skin.

Lavender adds a few drops of organic lavender essential oil, for a calming scent at bedtime.

Ingredients

Ingredients:
100% grass-fed & finished beef tallow
from Dutch cattle & organic jojoba oil are recognized by the body as skin-identical. They nourish and protect the skin without affecting the natural bacterial balance or skin barrier.

Non-nano zinc oxide (uncoated) is a natural mineral that protects and soothes the skin. It forms a gentle barrier against moisture, irritation, and friction. Uncoated means there is no chemical layer on it; non-nano means the particles are too large to be absorbed into the skin.

Organic beeswax provides a breathable, protective layer and is known for its healing, softening, and antibacterial effects.

Organic Chamomile and Calendula extracts help soothe and care for the skin. CO2 extraction is the purest and most precious form of plant extraction, ensuring all valuable substances are preserved. This gives the balm its lovely scent and colour.

A little bit of Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a completely natural antioxidant from plant oil. It’s good for the skin and ensures the balm stays good longer.

Lavender version only: a few drops of organic lavender essential oil, for a calming scent at bedtime. Prefer no essential oils? Choose Calendula & Chamomile.

This jar is made by hand and with love. Because of this, slight variations in colour and substance may occur. A sign of artisanal quality!

Directions

Directions

Warm a small amount between your fingertips and press it into dry patches, rough spots or anywhere your skin asks for it. Use as often as you like, or as a rich night cream.

Good to know

  • For external use only. Avoid the eyes and don’t apply to open wounds.
  • Patch test first, and stop if irritation occurs.
  • Contains calendula and chamomile. Not suitable if you’re allergic to plants of the daisy family.
  • Sensitive skin? Choose Calendula & Chamomile, without essential oils.
  • The flower extracts can leave a slight orange tint on fabric. It washes out.
  • Store below 30°C, or it will melt. It may soften in warmth and firm up again. That’s completely natural.

FAQ

You ask, we answer.
  • Many people with very dry or eczema-prone skin love it, because it calms and protects without anything harsh. It’s skincare, not medicine though. If your skin is inflamed, broken or not improving, check with your GP.

  • Nope. It has a soft, calming scent from calendula and chamomile extract, or lavender.

  • The Calendula & Chamomile version is gentle enough for older kids with dry patches or rough spots. But for babies and little ones, we’d point you to Bless the Baby. It’s made especially for delicate baby skin, with more zinc for a strong barrier at every nappy change and no essential oils at all. Always do a small patch test first.

  • Because there is some zinc oxide in this balm. Zinc is a mineral from the earth, not something that’s grown or farmed, so it simply can’t be certified organic. Everything that can be organic in this balm, is. We chose non-nano and uncoated zinc. Non-nano means the particles are too large to be absorbed into the skin, so they stay on the surface where they belong. Uncoated means there’s no chemical layer around them. Just the pure mineral.

  • Yes. Use a thin layer as a night cream, or just on dry spots. For a daily face balm without zinc, try Face the Beast.

  • The cleanest way to capture the good stuff from a flower. Instead of heat or chemical solvents, pressurised CO2 gently draws the active compounds out of the calendula and chamomile. Afterwards the CO2 simply evaporates, leaving nothing behind. Because it all happens at low temperatures, the delicate, calming compounds stay intact. It’s one of the purest (and most precious) ways to make a plant extract, and the reason this balm is so rich in colour and care.
